Hi! I’m Rosie, a Sydney born ex-design student turned Psychology major and Yoga teacher.
A little bit about me:
Creativity has always been part of my life. Whether it was drawing, painting, dancing or sewing, I was always making growing up. When I finished High School I went straight into a Bachelor of Design at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney, but dropped out to take care of my mental health. Looking back, my designs were always inspired by science and the mind. The fascination was there before I could recognise it for myself.
Taking a year off to travel around Europe and live in Budapest, I moved to Melbourne to start afresh. After giving myself some time to settle in, I started studying Psychology at RMIT. I felt so much direction and purpose starting this course, but something felt missing. In my second year of studying I started practicing yoga and discovered that missing piece. The mind is incomplete without the body. Yoga had such a profound impact on my mental health that I became fascinated in the mind-body connection.
In 2018 I became a yoga teacher and started creating events about mental health. Creating events brings out the designer in me, and allows me to share all that I love about psychology and yoga. It means I am always learning and can collaborate with like-minded people. My work gives me so much purpose in life, knowing that I can walk alongside others on their unique path.
Mental Health Work
Outside of teaching yoga and running my independent events, I work in mental health first aid and eating disorder recovery. This includes working as an on site counsellor at music events and offering one-on-one mentoring sessions in Melbourne. I also deliver trainings about self-regulating your nervous system to teams in corporate settings. You can contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
