The Psychology of Pain

1 in 5 people experience chronic pain, yet it is largely misunderstood. Join Rosie and Alex for an insightful workshop to empower you in your journey with pain. Learn about the science behind pain and tension. Break down limiting myths, and address fear associated with movement. Explore how movement, meditation and other evidence-based strategies can be used to prevent and manage pain.
The first half of this workshop will present the latest pain science with space for questions. The second half will be an experiential session of movement, breathing techniques and relaxation.
This workshop will be facilitated by Rosie Jean, a Yoga Teacher and Mental Health Worker and Alex Scott, a Team Lead Physiotherapist completing her Masters in chronic pain.

Conscious Clay & Meditation

A collaboration between Rosie, founder of I Live in Balance and Lauren, creator of Ochre Ceramics and Jewellery. This workshop is centred around the idea of fully immersing yourself within the present moment. Rosie and Lauren will lead a 2.5 hour workshop, flowing through mindful meditation and the calming act of making, with clay. The intention of the morning is to bring awareness to your senses, both physically and mentally. Hosted in one of Abbotsford Convent beautiful, light filled rooms, accompanied with (of course) a delicious selection of local coffee, tea and pastries, to truly nourish you inside and out.
